While most international flights arrive at Incheon International Airport (ICN) near Seoul, some arrive at Gimpo International Airport (GMP) in Seoul or Gimhae International Airport (PUS) in Busan. To prevent any confusion, be sure to check your arrival airport before coming to Korea. If you arrive at Incheon International Airport, you need to travel to Gimpo Airport by ground transportation before you transfer to a flight to Pohang. You will find a limousine bus departing to Gimpo Airport at Platforms 3B, 4B, 10A, and 11A on the first floor of Incheon International Airport. One-way fare for an adult is about KRW 6,500 and you may either pay in cash on the bus or purchase a ticket at the ticket office outside of the building. For bus schedules and more detailed information, please visit the Incheon International Airport homepage at www.airport.kr.

Alternatively, you can take a direct express bus from Incheon International Airport to Pohang Intercity Bus Terminal, which departs from Platform 10C every two to four hours from 7:00 am to 9:30 pm. The bus stops at Gyeongju Terminal before it reaches its final destination Pohang, so be sure to get off at the right terminal. The fare for one-way trip is KRW 42,200 (KRW 46,400 for late-night) and it takes five hours to get to Pohang. For more information or online reservation, please visit: www.airport.kr. If you arrive at Gimhae International Airport, you will have to take a bus from the airport to Pohang. A limousine bus departs from Platform 1 (Gate 3) to Pohang Intercity Bus Terminal every hour from 7:35 am to 9:45 pm.

By Train

Korea's national railway system provides both express and regular train services in Pohang, with four direct trains daily to and from Seoul. The direct train, Saemaeul, takes approximately five hours from Seoul to Pohang. Another option is to take the KTX, the Korean bullet train, from Seoul to Singyeongju and transfer to an intercity bus to Pohang.

The intercity bus currently (Dec 2011) costs KRW 4,800 one-way. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Pohang from Singyeongju, and the bus departs almost every hour from 5:00 am to 11:30 pm on weekdays.
