 2007년 성인의 체세포로 부터 Stem Cell 만들기 성공 !!

 DNA의 이중나선 구조(1953)를 세상에 알린 왓슨 & 크릭 (James D. Watson, Francis Crick), 그들이 2007년 6월과 9월 본인들의 Genome을 full sequencing 하여 발표했습니다.
 이제 각 사람의 Complete Genetic Makeup을 정확히 Mapping할 수 있는 시대가 열린 것입니다.
 인간의 Genetic Variation(양친으로부터 유전된 DNA detailing)은 이제껏 학자들이 생각해 왔던 것보다 훨씬 복잡하다는 것이 밝혀진 후, 유전병과 관련된 연구(Genome wide disease association studies)가 여느 때보다 활발히 진행된 2007년이었습니다.
 Personal Genomics라는 새로운 산업의 출현이 이미 시작되었다고 하네요.
 Science 저널에서는 Human Genetic Variation을 2007년 최고의 Issue로 선정했습니다.

 Lene Vestergaard Hau (Prof. Harvard university)에 의해 빛을 자전거 속도까지 떨어뜨리는데 성공한 실험으로 빛이 갖고 있는 정보를 물질로 변환하는 완전히 새로운 과학의 세계를열었습니다. 앞으로 이를 응용한 양자 컴퓨터(현재 0.1 대신 양자 비트로 병렬처리할 수 있는 초고속 컴퓨터)의 실현을 기대하고 있다고 합니다.
